Top 20 Rock Countdown - June 12, 2009

Move over Green Day, Shinedown took it this week for No. 1 with Sound of Madness, Shinedown on the charts for 11 weeks with this single has quickly moved up the charts, their other single Second Chance moved down two spots this week to No. 14 from 12 last week. However Shinedown has some stiff competition with Linkin Park, with New Divide coming in at No. 4 this week and only on the charts for 3 weeks they are still making an impressive jump, I predicted last week this single would be in the top 5 and it is no surprise. Disturbed still holding on to No. 3 with The Night from their 2008 cd Indestructible looking to edge up to No. 1, that is anyone’s guess. New comers for the top 20 Cavo and Halestorm are also making a impressive jump moving up and I am sure will give the top 5 a small nudge in the up and coming weeks. Halestorm’s self-titled cd featuring I Get Off and It’s Not You seem to be the most played, the other tracks on this cd are just as good, the lead singer Lizzy has an amazing voice they will definitely be noticed and take over the airwaves. They are currently touring with Burn Halo and Veer Union, speaking of which The Veer Union makes it back on the charts this week at No. 17, last week they slid down to No. 21 but back on this week. Nickelback moved up this week to No. 15 from 19 last week, who wants to bet they will make the top 5? Unfortunately, Theory is slipping off the charts along with Drowning Pool and Slipknot, but don’t be surprised if Theory comes out with another single off their cd that makes the charts!!
