Stone Temple Pilots On Tour

Six years after Shangri-La Dee Da and a post-release break-up, the Stone Temple Pilots are back together and out on the road again, for a 65-date United States reunion tour. STP debuted in 1992 with Core; their second single "Plush" establishing them as a multi-platinum act. The band's second album, Purple was released in '94, with one of the record's singles, "Interstate Love Song" beating out the Rolling Stones' "Start Me Up" for the record on top of Billboard's Album Rock Charts when it held on for an unprecedented 15 weeks.

Three discs later and the band had disbanded--frontman Weiland going on to head supergroup Velvet Revolver, brothers Robert DeLeo (bass) and axeman Dean DeLeo forming Army of Anyone with Richard Patrick of Filter and drummer Eric Kretz founding Bomb Shelter Studios in L.A.

STP's last tour ended in the fall of 2002; the band's long-awaited reunion is now the highest-grossing tour in the nation according to Pollstar.com Check out the Stone Temple Pilots with their all-original line-up this weekend, starting Friday the 6 in St. Paul, MN, Saturday the 7 in Kansas City MO, and St. Louis MO Sunday the 8.
