Some bands to check out and see

Alright folks I have a few bands I'd like to plug and direct your attention too. These are a few of the independent rock and metal bands I support so I thought what better way to spread the word about them then this way.

A band that has been featured on this site before called Mankind is Obsolete has become a favorite band of mine. For those not in the know they are a female fronted metal band from LA. The easiest way to describe their sound is like a female fronted Nine Inch Nails. Their music goes from hard, pounding, and screaming metal to very melodic and mellow. often times within one song. That is a very quick and crude summation of this fantastic band which I have been lucky enough to see live twice. MKIO tours the United States and parts of Canada almost nonstop, and if you get a chance to see them I highly recommend it. For those is the region of Birmingham, Alabama they will be performing at Omegacon March 15th. For more information checkout their page for all updates: http://www.myspace.com/mankindisobsolete

Another band also performing at Omegacon is Seven Cycle Theory an industrial band hailing Nashville, TN. This is a band I became exposed to when going to a concert some months back, never heard of them and was honestly impressed I had never heard of them. These lads are very confident and skilled group of musicians. Machine sounds and odd synthesized tracks are incorporated into their tracks adding an eerie feel to their music. If you are a fan of industrial music check this band out: http://www.myspace.com/sevencycletheory

Echovalve is a band that has a sound that I find lacking now on the radio or in music in general. This four man group based out of Atlanta, GA is just a pure rock band down to the core. With a nice balance of soft melodies and smashing guitar and bass riffs they remind you what rock is supposed to sound like. Like the rest these guys tour a good bit in the southeast and the neighboring regions so if they come through your town go see them. You can thank me later. If you want to really support them their new album "helloagaingoodbye" is going to drop March 18th, it is a first major label release for this band. Once you hear them you will be hooked. The final band I'll mention for your consideration is a band from Arab, Alabama. Trust me folks you blink driving through this town you'll miss it. They are an alternative rock group with a sound reminiscent of Sevendust and Mudvayne. This quartet, going by the name A.Z., plays their music they way they like it loud and fast, in a small smoke filled bar under an overpass they will shake the walls loose. They mainly play in and around north Alabama but are planning on expanding outward. These are small town guys that play like they are one of the big guys and the rightly should be. To hear them and see if you can catch a show or if thats too much of a hassle, ask McBratty to play one of their songs then go to their page: http://www.myspace.com/azarabal

These are all bands I support and endorse. If you enjoy rock music of an variety give these groups a listen I guarantee you will become a supporter of one of these fine bands and rave about them to your friends till they become one as well. That is all the music pimping I have people, so go forth, listen, and rock out loud.
