Rock Music??

Now, I think it's safe to say that we all know the deffinition of rock music. But lately, these days it gets harder to tell. The other day I was in the car and listening to the radio. The station was supposed to be all-rock music. When they announced that the next song was La La by Ashlee Simpson I was literally floored. WTF? Was my response. So I called the from my cell phone (lovely inventions, those things) and demanded to know why they decided to play Ashlee Simpson on an all rock station. I said, quote "I request AC/DC Highway To Hell, By The Way never call Ashlee Simpson rock again!" end quote. I wasn't on the air saying this, but they repeated what I said. The next song they played was "Crazy B****" by Buckcherry. THANK YOU!! At least they listened to me. Honestly, I have nothing against Ashlee Simpson, I just do not think she should be considered "rock". I thought about that some more. Now they're calling Madonna, John Mayer, and The Goo Goo Dolls rock. And the song "Party like a rock star" by Shop Boyz? More like, Party Like A Rap Star. Not that I dislike or really like any of these artists I just don't believe people should throw the term rock music around. Call me old fashioned, but I'm sure that there are tons of people who would agree with me.
