Ozzy, Chris Cornell Rock With Slash

Slash has finally unveiled the full guest list for his solo album, and it includes Chris Cornell, Ozzy Osbourne, Fergie, Dave Grohl, Ian Astbury, Myles Kennedy, Kid Rock, Lemmy Kilmeister, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Iggy Pop, Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother, and his ex-bandmates Duff McKagan and Izzy Stradlin. The album, aptly called Slash, will be released in April through EMI Label Services.

"The idea was really simple in the beginning," said Slash. "These are all artists I wanted to work with – that I thought it would be amazing to do something creative and collaborative. And I was so impressed with what everyone brought to the table. They were all so committed to doing a good job, and we had a lot of fun making these songs."

Slash also enlisted the services of producing partner Eric Valentine (Queens of Stone Age, All-American Rejects) and compiled the rhythm section of bassist Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction) and renowned studio drummer Josh Freese. Slash handled the majority of the arranging and songwriting duties and hand-picked each guest artist. A press release notes that additional tracks featuring Alice Cooper, Nicole Scherzinger, Flea, Steven Adler, Nick Oliveri, Beth Hart, Cypress Hill, Fergie and Koshi Inaba will be released simultaneously with the record in different formats and territories.

In related news, Guitar Center is holding a contest for unsigned bands called Your Next Record with Slash. The competition provides emerging artists with the chance to record a three-song EP with producer Mike Clink (Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Megadeth) and have Slash write, record and perform on the winning artists' single. Now through April 30, bands are invited to submit their music at YourNextRecord.com for a chance to win the prize package.
